A McHenry County league has recently been formed to which all of the schools in the county belong with meetings occasionally for the purpose of advancing and governing athletics* C. W. Hill of Marengo is the presU dent of the league and Wayne Callahan of Woodstock is the secretary and treasurer.,, A meeting of this league was held at Woodstock on Wedensday evening of this week fo* the purpose of arranging the football schedule for next year. The basketball schedule for another year will probably be arranged some time in March; All teams are required to enter with the league first which will, no doubt, result in a very satisfactory arrangement of the games scheduled. Prospects for a good team at the high school this year are in evidence, although there will be but one letter man from last year. Joe Barbian is the letter man, but he will be supported by a strong lineup consisting of Frett, Dowell, Harrison, Schraeder, Thurlwell, Nic Miller and C. Vycital. The second team is all new material this year and will consist of Melvin Whiting, Glen Draper, Harold Patzke, Leo Smtih, Edward Thennes, James Frisby, Dan O'Shea and Gerald Steilen. Reports from Woodstock show that they also have only one letter man on their team this year while Crystal Lake seems to be a big bet in the county this season with practically all cf last year's champion outfit back. If Harvard succeeds as well in basketball as they did in football this season they should be a real opponent Marengo has a fair team out this season while Huntley and Richmond are worknig hard and Hebron has several men back from last year's squad.
