They last year built fifty tubs, each with a capacity of about 500 bush- els4 and contracted for 200 acres of pro duce, but owing to the dry season only thirty-six tubs were filled. No entrance fee will be charged to exhibi- 'tors, but competition will be open .to the world." One of the reasons given for this 'Miow departure" is that '"stock and articles are not really judged upon" their merits, but premiums, are award ed to the exhibitor who can tell the most plausible story." This is two true, and although this is a new and novel plan of holding a Fair, yet we have faith it will pove a success.
