mmmmm On mkMk ' UTE DAIRY MAKKKTS. UTICA, X. Y., Dec. 3d, 1876. On Monday last the offering oFche«pe wan principally late October and No vember stock, being the product of skimmed milk. The article command ing the high New York quotations lias been sold, and the cheese offered, and yet remaining, is the last make of the season. The advance was therefore but Jc. There was a fair attendance; about fifty salesmen, representing 3,000 boxes being present. BUTTER AXD CHEESE IN KEW YORK. BUTTER.--Receipts of the week. 30,021 packages; exports, 3,450 packages. Fancy fall stock is quick at 35c. and some superb creamery make may go in a small way at 36@38@40c; good to choice lines of middle to southern tier counties, half firkin fall tubs sell at 31@33c, and choice dairies entire from tl\e same section at 30@31c. and some fancy one at 32. Northern counties, Welsh make, sell well for the excep tionally fine stofck at near the above prices, but the bulk off the summer dairies of northern Welsh are only valued at 25c, and are not much _ sought for. The'com mon run of fresh make, western butter, sells readily at a range of from 20@25c, according to quality, and is the best thing on the list. Choice fresh Iowa, northern Illinois and Michigan creamery make sells at same prices as the same descriptions of State stock, say mostly at 3G@37c. The butter market rests upon the En glish export demand and from thence the tidings are of nominal high prices but with only a dull trade which absorbs stock slowly--markets there seem to be working about like our own --from hand to mouth, and im the dark as to the future of values. We had a great drouth through the Eastern States and Canada dairy districts last summer, and there was a hot, dry sea son In Europe. If prices keep low stock mav be exhausted so as to let the market out handsomely next spring. Western butter too is pretty well gone^ and the Western cities may possibly be in need of supplies from the East; but against any affirmative of higher prices and better markets there still stands the general dullness and stagnation of commercial interests everywhere, and tjie improbability of a people being active absorbents of property in a time of commercial distress. CHEESE.--Receipts for the week, 96,571 boxes; exports, 37,004 boxes. Notwithstanding the heavy receipts, prices upon fancy September advanced fully $1.00 per cwt., acd the whole list is very'strong. We quote: State fac tory fancy September and Ootober, 14J ®15c; prime, early make, 13@14c; fair to good, 12@13c; flat and Cheddar cheese, 13@14c. but first care fully * READ the new FALL WINTER LIST. He was an eccentric old roost er, and for some time has deposited in the bank $5 a month each to the credit of his dog and his mule, with a proviso that after his death the money was to go to their support. A few weeks ago an old buck got on the rampage and bucked the bark out of the dog, so he died. The mule became sole heir to the estate, and now as it is the only mule in this country with a bank ac count is as proud and frisky with ears and tail as a fashionable snob is when her bonnet costs 15 cents more than her poorer neighbor's.
