K. Stl lson In Owen town­ ship the messenger of death summoned Sylvanu8 S. Stlison from earth to his resting place In the grave. For years he had been a patient suffer and yet always looking on the sunny side of life. Now that his work Is done and lie awaits the great judgment day hla friends and children look over his past life with pleasure, because it waa a blameless one. Father Stlison was born Dec. 4th, 1804 in the town of Scipo N. Y. where he lived until he was sixteen years oM when he removed to Cincinnati Ohio, with his parents. He entered and went through Oxford University Ohio, June 4th 1829 he was united in marriage with Ifcliss Eleanor Bishop with whom he lived happily almost fifty years, and who is now left a widow to mourn his loss. In 1835 ho removed to Elkhart county Indiana where he lived until 1837, w^en he re­ moved to McHenry county Illinois. After living there, thirty years he came to Iowa in 1867 and settled on the furm whera he died. He was the father of six sons and two daughters Among the former Is W. B. Stinson our well known citizen. During all his long life he was noted for bis temper­ ate habits and moral deportmelit. A Ann believer in the faith of the Uni­ versal salvation of our race, he rested confidently on the promises of God. In his last hours he was patient and perfectly willing to bid adieu to all earthly affections and rest in peace. A large circle of friends mourn hla loss and will find there "a vacant chair.** Funeral services at the home on Wed­ nesday by Rev. E. C. Moulton before a large concourse of people.
