TOWN SITES. The elehth chapter of the Hevlsed Statutes of the United States, cora- • prising sections 2380 to 2394, and act of Congress of March 3d, 1877, provide for the disposal of town sites on the public domain. There are two methods by which title to such droperty may be acquired, subject to the election of parties de­ siring to doso: one provided for In sections 2382.2383. 2384 and 2383 and the other in sections 2387, 1388, and 2389 of the Revised Statutes of the United States. The first limits the •stent of the area of the city or town to 640 acres, to be laid off into lots, and which after filing In the Qeneral Land Office the transcript, statement and testimony required by section 2382 are to bu offered at public sale to the highest bidder at a minimum of ten dollars for each lot. Lots not thus dis- posed of are made thereafter liable to private entry at said minimum, or at Mich reasonable price as the Secretary •f the Interior may order from time to tUne, as the municipal property may ; Increase or decrease, after at least j three months* notice.
