Itariiif Four MUIIom of Acres. What fa claimed to be the largeet |»urchMe of laml «*ver made by k single 4>er«on In the world, occurred In Phila delphia on Thuraday, when Hamilton J>M0on, a prominent manufacturer of It bat dry, closed a contract by which lie MCtired 4.000,000 acres of land from tli* State ot Florid*. This huge transaction Vita bt«fi in negotiation for several month*, and Its fucces# was owing to the shrewd tac tics on the part of the agents of Mr. Deston. The land acquired a tract nearly at large as the State of New Jersey, was a part of the public, do main of the State of Florida, and un der control of the Board of Interna* lional Improvement of the State. Owing to the recent improved value of the land of Florida, this property has beeu anxiously looked after by capitalists of New York and Boston.-- For years, through agents, these gen tlemen have endeavored to purchase the land. The Sta'e had no discretion to sell until recently, when it became necessary to do so to relieve the State from certain obligations wliieh had be come burdensome. Meantime Mr. D«sson entered the field and set to work energetically, keeping in the background himself.--< The other parties left no stone un turned to get possession of the prop erty, but they were outgeneraled at wvery point. The tract is situated north of Lake Okeechobee, and is near ly all below the frost line. The amount paid has not been made pub lic. but it is to be a very large sum in cash. "WT _lLT'* 1. 1. Dacy & Co. It is an open secret,, well known to the farmers of Mc- Henry county, that during the last 12 years ours has been the only Agricultural Warehouse in the county where everything" in our line needed on the farm, from a pound of the best Barbed Wire to a Threshing Machine QOUI 1 be obtained at all times without notice. It was thought by those who knew us least, that the destructicn of our Ware house by tire a year ago, would cripple us. Instead of doing so, it has given us new life and vigor so that we are now better pre pared than ever before to under sell our (would be) competitors. Our Spring stfock is by far the largest and best in the county, and we are selling so close that it is a rare thing to see any one looking at our goods and going awaj without buying. Our present exhibit consists of Plows, Harrows, Spring-tooth Parrows, Pulverizers, Rollers, Stalk Cutters, 16 in.
