Tbat a contract made wUb Taylor mob., of tiehron, 111., to construct a drive well, the contractors to dig a" - well lour feet across, to be curbed aod lined with brick and cemented for tbo sum of $1.75 per foot , the county to lurnish hoard for two men and alee to rurnisb material; said well to bo ding to the deptb of forty feet and then a two inch pipe to bo driven to a depth to iurnlsh a sufficient sapply of water* lu accordance with said oontraot the said Taylor Bros, proceeded with said well io the deptb of thirteen feet and tlttftt abandoned the Job, alleging that it was impossible to proceed further to consequence of tbe great Inflow of qulokaapd. The committee then contracted witli James Dermont. of Genoa, Wis. to pal down a tubular well In the place left by tbe Taylor Bros. Tbe terms of tiald oontract being as follows: Tim said Dermont to put down a 3| inch galvanized Iron pipe to a dep.h su£> detent to supply from fifty to ene lino* ired barrels of water per day and fue* alsh a good and sufficient screen and a igood pump; or if on completion jtid wel! the county ehose to have a dillerent pump the said Dermont was to d- duct the price ot said tlrsi pump from tbe contract price of said wott.
