Desmond, which was read to the board and motion made to adopt the same, to-wlt: To the honorable Board of Supervisors of McHenry county: The undersigned road com missioners of the town of Hartland would respectfully represent that as a part of the Improvements being made on toe roads in the town of Hartland the present season, la the grading, putting in since ways, bridging X 'v:-: v*&r:, •: . -' i the town of Hartland the present 1 the grading, putting in since ways, and graveling that portion commencing on the telephone road between Woodstock and Harvard at a point nearly midway between sections 28 and 29, thence northeast, and then east to Hartland railway station, a distance of nearly 3 miles; and in so doing improve the frontage of the county farm lands for about 100rods- said improvement now nearly completed. The said undersigned commissioners would also respectfully represent that they are desirous of improving by grading, since ways, and graveling, the road, commencing nt ft, ttoint on the Woodstock and Harvard road above refterred to, 80 rods sooth of the south line of sections 26 and 27, and thence north on the line between said sectloiis (and through county farm lands for a distance of 80 rods) to intersect with the east and west roads heretofore referred to, the distance being about one and three-fonrth miles, and the cost of the latter Improvement, towlt: the rortli and sooth road, will be less than three hundred dollars. And, In view of the fact that the county farm pays no tax toward the improvement of the roads, and In view also of the fact that the people of McHenry oonnty as a whoe would naturally feel a proper pride In having the approaches to its public buildings j^aotS and kept in a proper condition, and also In doing equity, we feel emboldened to ask yoar honorable body to appropriate one-half to- < wit: one hundred ana fifty dollars, toward the proposed improvement, we agreeing Uwt the town of Hartland will contribute not Mis than a like sum, to-wlt: one hundred and fifty dollars, and will oommence said im provements immediately. The following reeouition was offlured by Sup. Wray, who moved its adoption to-wit. Resolved: That a bounty of ten emits per bead be paid on woodchucks on presentation of the scalps and filing an oath with the town clerk by the person capturing and killing them, and that they were captured aad killed in McHenry county, and that they, were not raised from old ones kept in captivity for that purpose. And the town clerk shall decide on such application, and If satisfied on such claim snail issue a certificate stating the amount of bounty such applicant is entitled to, and shall destroy scalps of such woodchucks, and such certificate be presented to the county clerk, who shall draw warrant for the amount on the county treasurer. , A.
