PATRICK H. O'DONNELJL has been anointed for a second term by Govern or or Yates as public administrator of ;i' Oook county. < IT would be much better to eat an ignited match than throw it down care lessly these days. Better one should suffer than the entire populace. I No excuse to help the hobo found 'HwreKng in an easterly direction. The farmers of Kansas want 15,000 men to help them with their summer's work at Wages paid to mechanics in the east. v SOMEBODY should call the attention <rf the Democrats of Ohio to the fact that such a person as William Jennings Bryan still is in existence. They appear ID imagine that there is no such person. COULD a person wish for a better variety show than the windings, twist- Iftgs, wranglings and eruptions among the Democratic parties. Like all such shows, there is an entire change of pro- i every week or two. ' WHY should the Democrats of Ohio waste so much valuable time in adver tising their repudiation of Bryan and free silver. True, it is a cloud upon their horizon, but they should not des- are snch things as cl#nfl pair--there DESPITE the fact that the cotxstrnip- Uon of sugar in the United States was *20,000 tons greater in 1900 than in 1899, ^|he imports from foreign countries fell off more than 600,000 tons in the same jwriod. This shows how the beet sugar industry is growing. I AFTER an incarceration of twenty five years, Cole and James Younger have been parolled from the Minnesota State prison. They were convicted on the charge ot muider at the time of the ffreat Northfield bank raid. By the provisions of the parole they will not be P > allowed to leave the state. H THE Woodstock Sentinel last week j closed its forty-fifth volume. The Sen ^ne '̂ nnder the kind and gentle influ H ^ ence of C. A. Lemmers, is a wide-awake, ^ up-to-date paper and a credit to the county. It is as staid and reliable as |J> its age would suggest, and is well sup p%' ported by business houses of Wood p stock. m:. Of course they have a per i !• feet right to worry and everyone with a grain of sense will condole with them , ;s But let us look back into the past fifty **' years and figure out how many corn K r crops have been ruined. The Buffalo Courier of last Tuesday says: "When Reclmr's Elgin band belched forth its initial volume of melody on the east esplanade of the exposition, yesterday afternoon, the general query was how such a powerful band could be the product of such an obscure place as Elgin. ' 'Arriving at noon, Joseph Hecker, the conductor, lost no time in assum ing the post left vacant by Sousa. Music lovers crowded around the Illi nois players, and by frequent calls for encores heralded the new comer as a fitting candidate to become a popular favorite. Dashing music, character istic of Sousa, was conspicuously absent from Conductor Hecker's initial pro gram. With the first wave of his baton he played "The Pan-American Exposi tion, ' and then launched into music of sombre tone. C. H. Wolf the cornet soloist, made his first appearance with the band, and was enthusiastically re ceived." Qaestion Answered. f • • Yes, August Flower still has the larg est sale of any medicine in the civilized world. Your mothers and grand mothers never thought of using any thing else for Indigestion or Biliousness. Doc tors were scarce, and they seldom heard of Appendicitis, Nervous Pros tration or Heart failure, etc. They used August Flower to clean out the system and stop fermentation of undi gested food, regulate the action of the liver, stimulate the nervous and organic action of the system, and that is all they took when feeling dull and" bad with headaches and other aches. You only need a few doses of Green's Au gust Flower, in liqnid form, to make you satisfied there is nothing serious the matter with you. Get Green's Prise Almanac. Julia A. Story.-;.
