One Minute Coagh Cure gives relief in one minute, because it kills the mi crobe which tickles the mucous mem brane, causing the cough, and at the same time clears the phlegm, draws out the inflammation and heals and soothes the affected parts. One Minute Cough Cure strengthens the lungs, wards off pneumonia and is a harmless and never failing cure in all curable cases of Coughs, Colds and Croup. One Minute Cough Cure is pleasant to take, harm less and good alike for young and old. Julia A. Story, McHenry, G. W. Bes- ley, West McHenry. What Fa<lier Said. N Willie--Well, now that you've come, I suppose I'll have to go for the doctor. Cholly--Why, Willie? Willie--Father says you always make him sick. Pimples, faded complexions, chapped skin, red, rough hands, eczema, tetter, bad blood, cured in a short time, with Rocky Mountain Tea, the great com plexion restorer. G. W. Besley. ft 'MA 4- I have had occasion to uie your Black-Draught Stock and Poultry Medi cine and am pleased to say that I never used anything for stock that gave half at good satisfaction. I heartily iccon- mend it to all owners of stock. J. B. BELSHER. St LoaU. Mo. Sick atock or poultry should not eat cheap stock food any more than sick persons should expect to be cared bv food. When your stock and poultry are sick give "them med icine. Don't stuff them with worth less stock foods. Unload the bowel# and stir up the torpid liver and the animal will be cured, if it be possi ble to cure it. Black-Draught Stock and Poultry Medicine unloads the bowels and stirs up the torpid liver. It cures every malady of stock if taken in time. Secure a 2.Wi>nt can of Black-Draught Stock and Poultry Medicine and it will pav for itself ten times over. Horses work better. Cows give more milk. Hogs gain flesh. And hens lay more eggs. It solves the problem of making as much blood, flesh and energy as possible out of the smallest amount of food con sumed. Buy a can from your dealer, • « When the waters of the Niagara river ' were made to flow over turbines to give electric power and light to the city of Buffalo it was considered a great l'evolu- tionary feat of engineering. But at Niagara the dam and the fall were there from the beginning. The power wan ready in the rough--it bad only to be applied to the machinery. When how ever, it was proposed to utilize the speed and force dt the Hudson river and to turn them into the power that lights towns, runs street railways and vitalizes factory plants the problem was a differ ent one. The river was there, but the fall had to be created, and to do this it would be necessary to build one of the largest dams ever constructed, a wall in fact, 1,400 feet long and 154 feet high, at certain points. No such barrier, great or small, bad ever been placed ac ross a river of a volume and flow equal to that of the Hudson just above Glens Falls, N Y., yet this has now been success fully Accomplished. Tendency of the Timed. The tendency of medical science is toward preventiye measures. The best thought of the world is b^ing giyen to the subject. It is easier and better to prevent than to cure. It has been fully demonstrated that pheumonia, one of the most dangerous diseases that, medi cal men have to contend with, can be prevented by the use of Chamberlain 'e Cough remedy. Pneumonia often re sults from a cold or from an attack of influenza (grip), and it has been observed that this remedy counteracts any ten dency of these diseases toward pneu monia. This has been fully proven in many thousands of cases in which this remedy has been used during the great prevalence of colds and grip in recent years, and can be relied on with perfect confidence. Pneumonia often results from a slight cold when no danger is apprehended until it is suddenly discov ered that there is fever and difficulty in breathing and pains in the chest, then it is announced the patient has pneu monia. Be on the safe side ~and take Chamberlain's Cough Remedy as soon as the cold is contracted. It always cures. For sale by all druggists. Hopklna for President Pretty nearly everybody in Anrora crowded the opera house in that city Friday evening, while the stage plat form was filled with visitors from other tities who were there to attend the reception given to Senator Hopkins, says the Nunda Herald. Great enthus iasm was manifested, especially when Mayor Alschuler, who presided, nomi nated Mr. Hopkins for the presidency in 1908. Other speakers, among whom were Congressman Snapp, Judge Good win, Sam Alshuler, C. P. Barton and E. G. Hanchett, referred to this event uality, and it is evident that Kane county, once started, does not mean to stop short of the summit for her favor ite son., Mr. Hopkins replied with con siderable feeling to the compliments and good wishes, but expressed no fur ther aspirations. A Weak Stomach " causes a weak body and invites disease. Kodol Dyspepsia Cure cures and strengthens the stomach, and wards off and overcomes disease. J. B. Taylor, a prominent merchant of Chriesman, Tex., says: "I could not eat because of a weak stomach. I lost all strength and run down in weight. All that mon ey could do was done, but all hope of re covery vanished. Hearing of some won derful cures effected by use of Kodol, I concluded to try it. The first bottle benefitted me, and after taking four bottles I am fully restored to my usual strength, weight and health." Julia A. Story, McHenry, G. W. Besley, West McHenry. _ Spanish Amerlcait^ir Vcterani The annual encampment of the De partment of Illinois, Spanish-American War Veterans, will be held in Blooming- ton June 18, 19 and 20. It will be one of the biggest affairs ever held in the state, as the citizens of Bloomihgton are taking extraordinary steps to this end. It is estimated that no less than 1,500 veterans will be there, in addition to several companies of state troops and fifty thousand citizens of the state at large. The public will be kept thoif oughly informed through these columns from month to month as to the progress of affairs. The Kfiny Hill. «• DeWitt's Little Early Risers do not gripe nor weaken the system. They cure biliousness, jaundice, constipation and inactive livers, by arou»ing the se cretions, moving the bowels gently, yet effectually, and giving such tone and strength to the glands of the stom- ach, liver and bowels that the cause of the trouble is removed entirely. These ramons little pills exert a decided tonic effect- upon the organs involved, and if t heir use is continued for a few days there will be no return of the trouble. Julia A. Story, McHenry, G. W. Bes ley, West McHenry. The American Hrldc. There is a difference, it seems, be tween the American bride and the bride of other countries. The American bride adopts herself to changed circumstances more readily thaB any foreigner can ever do. As the wife of the farmer or capitalist she acquires rapidly the man ners of her station. Snch is the view taken by a writer on the subject of brides in the February Cosmopolitan; whose article is illustrated with a dozen fine photographs of lovely woman in her wedding dress.
