The proposed game law which is now being considered at Springfield will con sequently be of much interest to readers of The Plaindealer. The bill limits the number of prairie chickens that may be killed in a day by one hunter to twenty-five and the nun - ber of wild dacks to fifty. No non-resi dent shall take out of the state more than fifty game birds in a season, and no one shall kill these birds for market or commercial purposes, ' The feature of the bill is to stop the awful slaughter of game for the market that has been going on for the last few years. But will the enforcement of such a law stop the awful slaughter? I« it not true that when one man who is hunting for the market leaves his post that twenty sportsmen will take his place? The law will not help the country or "native" hunters in the least--the slaughter will continue just the same and in a few more years ducbe, chickens and other game which is now plentiful in Illinois will be as scarce hs snow balls at a fourth of July celebra tion in Texas. If a law is passed prohib iting the shooting of any game for about three years, and placing a ban on | market hunters forever, the results would be more satisfactory to the ma jority of people in Illinois. It is easier and better to prevent than to cure. It has been fully demonstrated that pheumonia, one of the most dangerous diseases that medi cal men have to contend with, can be prevented by the use of Chamberlain's Cough remedy. Pneumonia often re sults from a cold or from an attack of influenza (grip), and it has been observed that this remedy counteracts any ten dency of these diseases toward pneu monia. This has been fnlly proven in many thousands of cases in which this remedy has been used during the great prevalence of colds and grip in recent years and can lie relied on with perfect confidence. Pnenmonia often results from a slight cold when no danger is apprehended until it is suddenly discov ered that there is fever and difficulty in breathing and pains in the chest, then it is announced the patient has pneu monia. Be on the safe side and take Chamberlain's Cough Remedy as soon as the cold is contracted. It always cures. Far sale by all druggists. McHenry County Teaehen*' Aaaoeiatlra.
