A petition of Roxania Jane Austin to remit costs was presented and on mo tion of Sup. Desmond was referred to the committee on fees and salaries. Tne quarterly report of Geo. W. Conn^ superintendent of schools, was read and referred to the committee on education. W. W. Abel, architect, of Elgin, 111., at the request of the former public- building committee, presented plans for the erection of a new vault in the county clerk's office and enlarging the rooms of the circuit clerk, which were referred to the committee on public buildings. On statement of ex-Sup. Hoy, on be half of the former purchasing commit tee on unfinished business, Sup. Des mond moved that arrangements made by said committee, by paying a differ ence of $185 for the exchange of the old typewriters for new ones in the county and circuit clerks' offices, be and is hereby approyed. Carried Request of officers of the McHenry county agricultural board for an appro priation of $2,000 for manufacturers' building at the fair grounds, referred to the committee on finance. Sup, Desmond moved that the chair man appoint a committee of three to draft resolutions on the death of Sup. Clark Carried. As such a committee the chairman appointed Sups. Desmond, Lake and Turner. The matter of filling vacancies of the judges of election was referred to the committee on elections. Sup. Brotzman moved to adjourn un til 2 p. m. for committee work. Car ried. 2P.IL Board met pursuant to adjournment, and all supervisors responded at roll- call. The committee on rules made the following report, which was adopted, to-wit: Mr. Chairman and Gentlemen of the Board of Supervisors; Your committee to whom was referred the matter of court costs in the case of Elmarinda Norton vs Roxania Austin et al, lately pending in the circuit court, would bee leave to submit the following re port on the matters before them: Upon investigation of the circumstances in this case, we would recommend that all of the costs of the officers of said court be remitted and that the clerk be authorized to so mark his books.
