Q»ving decided to become a candi date for the office of village trustee, I respectfully solicit the support of my friends at the village caucus and elec tion. JOSEPH HRIMRR. THERE seems a great many things that people living in the country have to be thankful for. The one that seems paramount to all others is that we are not commanded by the board of health "boil the water." *UNCLE JOE CANNON would make a mighty good president, but the mind political is sot on Teddy. How would the vice presidency do? Cracky! What a Strang combination that would make! ftnosevelt and a Cannon! * CAPITAL punishment, as a rule, is severely condemned, yet there are but lew, indeed, who feel that the punish ment to be meted out to Van Dine, Marx and Neidermeier is at all adequate to fit the frightful crimes of these Chi cago desperadoes. - THE Woodstock Sentinel has moved laito its new quarters on the ground floor. The Sentinel is entirely worthy of the better surroundings ani oonven isDces and particularly during the past ' year has made rapid strides to the front in modern journalism. The Plaindealer congratulates. power on the state committee and has been an honor to McHenry county and this district. The Dundee Hawkeye says that either M. F. Walsh of Har vard or Judge Donnelly of Woodstock would fill the vacancy with credit to themselves and the party, and The Plaindealer heartily endorses the opin io the plans of the originators carry true, there is going to be a heap more trouble for the average voter. Down in Missouri the girls have started a cm- a le favoring the candidacy of Joseph Folk, the boodle-huGting attorney, in hs cauSiducy for the governorship. This is their cry: J<x> Folk! Joe Folk! He's the man. .) I can't vote, but my sweetheart can. The interesting |>art lies in the snppo sitimi that if the sweethearts don't THERE is no barm in Willie Hearst bang a candidate for the presidency. He is only, a candidate. Yellow jour nalism will never sway the American ' piibliv to such an extent as to nominate him, to say nothing of giving him a plurality in election. Democracy could <lo better with Bryan and free silver. WHEN the hobos begin to leave their winter quarters in Chicago for the west ! this spring, they should be given a cool ; fpception by villager*. In buying a cough medicine to be ad ministered to children and persons of a delicate constitution, parents should avoid buying those bad tasting syrny^ that nauseate the stomach and distort) the digestion. Many of such medicines contain opium And other stupefying drugs, which are dangerous as well as unpleasant . There is one medicine, sold by G. W. Besley. W. McHenry, which is free from all such objections. It is Harti*' Honey and Horchound and it may always be relied upon to speedi ly cure Coughs, Colds, Croup, La Grippe and all Throat and Lung affections. Frisby has been doing carpenter work at Griswold Lake the past few weeks. Miss Mary Gibbs of Barreville is spending a few days with Miss Margar et Aylward. Df. C. H. Eegers and J. D. Lodtz of McHenry were callers *here Tuesday and Wednesday. Miss Alice Smith spent a couple of days the first of the week with Nellie Newman in McHenry. Mrs. Ed. Whiting and Misses Edytb Whiting and Nellie Noonan of Ring- wood and Kathryn Walsh spent Sunday afternoon with Miss Margaret Sutton In district No. 42 the following pupils were not absent or tardy: Anna Bol- ger, Fred Conrad, John Bolger. Num ber of pupils enrolled, 12; average daily attendance, 11 and 12. Considerable damage* was done along the Park Wednesday when the ice came down the river with such great force and on account of the water being so high. The fence all along the river bank was knocked down, and several of the small trees set out oy Berkircher Bros, and others were also cut off by the cakes of ice. This was a busy day for Berkircher Bros., who tried to save everything they could for themselves and neighboring cottagers--piers, fish boxes, boats, etc. The boat house be longing to Mr. Wheeler on the west bank of the river disappeared, and Arm strong Bros.' boat house was thought to be in great danger at times, but stood thru it all. All danger is over now, un less the ice from the lakes should come down. Do Ton Want Strength? If you Want to increase your strength you must add to and not take from the physical. In other words, the food that you eat must be digested, assimilated and appropriated by the nerves, blood and tissues before being expelled from/ the intestines. Kodol Dyspepsia Cure adds to the physical. It gives strength to and builds up strength in the human system. It is pleasant to the taste and palatable, and the only combination of digestants that will digest the food and enable the system to appropriate all of its health and strength-giving qualities. " How To Find Oat. is «: Fill a bottle or common glass with your water nnd let it stand twenty-four hours; a sediment or set tling indicates an unhealthy condi tion of the kid neys; if it stains your linen it is evidence of kid ney trouble; too frequent desire to pass it or pain in the back is also convincing proof that the kidneys and blad der are out of order. What to Dot. There is comfort in the knowledge so often expressed, that Dr. Kilmer's Swamp- Root. the great kidney remedy fulfills every wish in curing rheumatism, pain in the back, kidneys, liver, bladder and every part of the urinary passage. If your liver does not act reg ularly go to your drueffiriat atid secure a package of Inedford's Black-Draught and take a dose tonight. This great family medicine frees the constipated bowels, stirs up the torpid liver and causes a Leal thy secretion of bile. Thedford'i Black - Draught will cleanse the bowels of im purities and strengthen the kid- nevs. A torpid liver invites colds, biliousness, chills and fever and all manner of sick ness and contagion.
