MHiik Over-Work Weakens Your Kidneys, OMeiMky Kidneys Make Impure Blood. All the blood in your body passes through your kidneys once every three minutes. a7-nr, J* The kidneys are your blood purifiers, they fil ter out the waste or impurities in the blood. If they are sick or out of order, they fail to do iheir work. Pains, aches and rheu matism come from ex cess of uric acid in the blood, due to neglected Itidney trouble. Kidney trouble causes quicl^ or unsteady heart beats, and makes one feel as though they had heart trouble, because the heart is over-working in pumping thick, kidney- poisoned biood through veins and arteries. It used to be c&nsidered that only urinary troubles wprt to be traced to the kidneys, but now nfodern scicnce proves that nearly all constitutional diseases have their begin ning \jh kidney trouble. ...If you are sick you can make no mistake "by first doctoring your kidneys. The mild and the extraordinary effect of Dr. Kilmer's Swamp-Root, the great kidney remedy is soon realized. It stands the highest for its wonderful cures of the most Stressing cases and is sold on its merits by all druggists in fifty- _ cent and one-dollar si; - es. Thursday, June 16, 1904. p THE STATE TICKET. The Republican ticket as nqminated at Springfield will receive the unani mous support of the republicans of the state of Illinois. Ont of the number of candidates for governor it was impossi ble to make a selection that wonld in any way endanger the party's chances at the polls, consequently it was only a matter of "pull' and "posh." The Plaindealer is well satisfied with the entire ticket and it will have our undi vided support. That it is a strong, vote getting ticket is conceded by the defeat ed candidates, and some democrats are inclined to think that their convention will amount in the end to only a matter of form. The republican majority at the coming election will be over 50,000, and some of the less conservative are placing the majority at 100,000. Chas. S. Deneen, nominee for govern or, was born at Edwardsville, Madison county, 111., 41 years ago the 4th of last month. He is in every sense a self-made man. He was educated at McKindree College in St. Clair county, his father being a professor in that institution. The young man, after his graduation therefrom and a few year? spent in School teaching in southern Illinois, landed in Chicago when 22 years of age without money or influential friends Since then he has bad an eventful ca reer, which has included a term in the Illinois legislature and two terms as state's attorney of Cook county, where he has made an enviable record. Lawrence Y. Sherman, nominee for lieutenant governor, is a native of Ohio, but when a boy he came to Illinois and was educated at McKindreefc college. For eight years in Illinois he has been one of the leading men of public life ,He won his spurs as member of the •fcate legislature, serving two terras as Speaker. In debate, on the stump or as a parliamentarian Illinois has no abler Or brighter man than Mr. Sherman. • Len Small, nominee for state treasur- ar, lives at Kankakee. He is the pres ent state senator from that district and for many years has been prominent and successful in state politics, being a close friend of Congressman Cannon. .Tames A. Rose, re-nominated for sec fetary of state, has served two terms in this office, where he has made a record for efficiency never excelled by any of his predecessors. He was born in 111) Hois, in the southern part of the state, * his home being at Golconda, in Pope County, whose people he served as state's attorney and where he is esteemed fo.- his worth and honesty as he iB, in fact, wherever known. His re nomination is a deserved tribute to a faithful and ' efficient public servant. W. H. Stead, nominee for attorney general, resides at Ottawa. He is a lawyer of marked ability and has few equals as a brilliant and convincing stump speaker. His strength among the delegates can be imagined when it is known that he waa the only candidate outside the successful combine strong enough to break the Yates Deneen slate and to win againet what in the other ballots was an invincible combination SINCE the openiug of spring Russia in moving her forces to better advantage and now gives Japan a better argument In Manchuria. The little Japs are put- tin« up a stubborn fight, but it will be t: aurainst great odds this summer. Rus sia's resources are almost inexhaustible, while Japan has almost reached liuiit of ber strength. BIDOEFIELU.
