James and Selim Pierce are doing the carpenter work. Christian Endeavor meeting will be led next Sunday evening by Ray Moss. Topic, "Christ in India." Election of officers will be held. All cordially wel­ come. Hon. Fred Hatch ^utertained Dr. Francis Dickerson, president of the Har­ vey Medical college, Chicago, and Miss Howen, correspondent to the Chicago Chronicle, last Sundav. The Fire Cracker social held last Tuesday evening was well attended and fire crackers having a good sized luuch basket lor two sold well, the net pro­ ceeds amounting to over ten dollars, which was de|Htsited iu the Sunday school treasury. Dame Nature, after giving us more rain than we thought necessary in this region for the past two years, is now withholding it with the result that our strawberry, hay an l oat crops will be decidedly minus. Farmers are thin king, seriously of reducing stock iu view of the shortage of feed. Rev. Delna C. Henshaw, advance agent for the Chicago Daily News Fresh Air Fund and Chicago Bureau of Charity Outing department, was in town last week and formed a local sum­ mer outing committee, who will gladly communicate with anyone iu regard to taking city children for a couple of weeks in the first part of August.
