A*man who claimed to know what he war talking abont is thns quoted by the Mineral Wells' Index: "Arkansas has a greater variety of hogs and less pork and lard than any state in the Union An average hog weighs fourteen pounds when dressed, with its head ot>, and six and a half pounds with its head off. It can outran a greyhound, jump a rail fence, climb like a parrot, and live on grass, roots and rabbit tracks. It hasn't much tail or bristle but has plenty of gall. It will lick a wolf or a bear in a fair fight. It is called a razorback it ia shaped like a snnfish. In razorbacks they are always oadside on for there is not a '<>f a show of Ihittiug them other wise, any more than to shoot at a, split Bhingle. This type can drink milk out of a quart jar on account of its long, thin head. It is generally known as the stone hog because its head is so heavy and its nose so long that it balances up behind. The owner of this type of hog usually ties a stone to its tail to keep it from overbalancing. If the stone is too heavy it will pull the skin over its eyes and it will go blind." A Horn* Made Happy by Chamberlain'* Cough Remedy. About two months ago our baby girl had measles, which settled on her lungs and at last resulted in a severe attack of bronchitis. We had two doctors buV no relief wae obtained. Everybody thought she. would die. I went to eight different stores to fiqd a certain remedy which had been recommended to me and failed to get it. when one of the storekeepers insisted that I try Cham berlain s Cough Remedy. I did BO and our baby is alive and well today.'--GEO. W. SPENCE, Holly Springs, N. C. Chamberlain's Congh Bexuedy always cures and is pleasant and safe to take. For sale by G. W. He was taken ill at his home, and not having any one to care for him, was taken to the Esh home, where he re ceived the beet of care. He handed Mrs. EBh, in the presence of witnesses, a tin box, saying that the box and contents were to be hers. Be fore Mr. Baker died his niece, Mrs. Alice Moore, came to see him, and remained until after his death and bqrial. Sbe secured the tin box from Mrs Esh by telling her that a will had been found in the house of the decedent, by the terms of which the property of the de ceased, consisting of real estate at Graaa Lake, worth about #1000, and the box, containing abont f 1900, were to go t<> his niece, Mrs. Moore. Mrs. Esh determined to investigate the matter and engaged Attorney J. I. Lang of this village. He learned from Mrs. Esh that in the box was a certifi cate of deposit in the sum of |600. on a bank in Gaiva, 111. Mr. Lang had pay ment on the certificate stopped, and when Mrs. Moore appeared at Wauke- gan to probate the'supposed will Mr. Lang started suit, and was successful in all the hearings of the court The amount of money in the box was never counted by Mrs. Esh but is esti mated at $1300. Attorney Lang refused to talk of the case except to say that the settlement was satisfactory in view of all the circumstances. Asthma Sufferers Should Know This. Foley's Honey and Tar has cured many cases of asthma that were consid ered hopeless. Mrs. Adolph Buesing, 701 West Third St, Davenport, Iowa, writes: "A severe cold contracted twelve years ago was neglected until it finally grew into asthma. The \best medical skill available could not give me more than temporary relief. Foley's Honey and Tar was recommended and one fifty cent bottle entirely cured me of asthma which had been growing on me for twelve years. If I had taken it at the start I would have been saved years of suffering." G. W. Besley. All the old time dances at the Cen tral Friday evening, December 28.
