A class of eleven children were con­ firmed and made their first communion at St. John's German Lutheran church in this village last Sunday morning at ten o'clock, the services being per­ formed by Rev. John Bertram, pastor of the church. The services were im­ pressively performed and were wit­ nessed by an exceptionally large con­ gregation. Mr. Herman Tevero, who has had charge of the Germrn Lutheran school here during the past season and who prepared the class for this impor­ tant step, left for his home at Mirrel, Wis., after .a most successful season here. Mr. Tevers is a bright young man and during his stay here has made many friends. After snmming up the scores it was found that Arthur Bickler had won the first prize, a beauti­ ful cut glass flower vase, his average for twenty-five games having been 187£. John Weber came in for the second prize, an elegant regulation bowling ball, he having the distinction of having made the highest scoife, his mark being 227. Miss Anna McGee was awarded the ladie's prize, a beautiful cut glass cokttne bottle. Miss McGee's high sc^Pb was 157.
