The McHenry House, Bnch's snmmer resort and the Riverside House are all eajoying a fine patronage, their ever accommodating system bringing many new faces to the respective places this year. Mrs. 'Mary Muehrcke, mother of Otto and Charles Muehrcke, passed away juite suddenly at the Mnehrcke hotel at Fox Lake on Tuesday, July 9." The funeral and interment will take place at McHenry tomorrow (Friday). Mrs. A. H. Hill and children, Esther and Edwin, of Chicago are occupying the Waite cottage on the river, where they expect to remain for a month. Miss Clara Wightman of Chicago is a guest at the cottage for a week or two. August Larsen, proprietor of the Orchard Beach summer resort, reports a good business, of which he is ever deserving. Mr. Larsen is a genial, good natured gentleman who always gives his guests the best that money affords. McKay and Ray P. .Felts, em ployees of the First National bank of Chicago, made a trip from Elgin to Howell's villa on the Fourth in their canoes. The trip was thoroughly en joyed by both gentlemen until the Mc Henry dam was reached. In passing thru the gates at the dam their canoes were upset and the gentlemen took an unexpected swim. After np righting the canoes, their trip to the villa was completed. Last Sunday .they made the trip again, this time with a per fect record, Mayor Basse of Chicago to one of the incorporators and directors of the Fox Lake Motor Boat club which has just been organised by motor-boat owners and enthusiasts. The other directors are Henry Klerne, Herbert D. Ford, John L. Hoeber, George Lomax, Louis Passow and F. Lnndin. Henry Klerne is commodore, L. A. Parson, vice com modore and H. D. Thrown into the waters of Fox Lake, two miles from shore, by the capsizing of the racing yacht Rodger C., last Sat urday night, Walter Larson of Joliet struggled four hours before being rescued, • Sunday morning the three yqung men werte taken from the up turned yacht at daybreak by a party from the Fox Lake Yacht club, who heard their appeals for help and went to their aid*in a row boat. The yacht was towed to shore and the three boys entered the race at ten o'clock and finished fourth. Larson's companions were Roy Herman and Charles Ogden, The young sues left the sbora <>« » <!«ie at 12 o'clock at night'. A driving rain was falling and the wind was at a high pressure. In attempting to turn around the boat was capsized and the three were thrown into the water. The over turned boat did not sink, and the three boys held on to the craft as best they might until rescued. Despite the fact that their boat was wet and bedraggled fromOthe Fox Lake water, their sail torn and out of commission and they themselves tired from lack of sleep, the boys did not desist from making pre parations for the race. The boat was dried otifc, a sail was borrowed from a friend and the boat entered the race.
