The Chicago & Northwestern Rail­ way Co. had a gang of men here one day last week painting the depot, switches and other fixtures, which greatly improves the appearance of them. Miss Nettie E. Whiting closed a very successful school year in the Harsh dis­ trict last Friday. Miss Whiting has done satisfactory work, which accounts for her snccess. 'the closing was fol­ lowed by a short program and a picnic given on the school grounds. Memorial exercises will be held in the Woodman hall, Ringwood, Saturday, May 29, at 2 o'clock p.m. under the auspices of the local Woman's Christian Temperance Union, whose state presi­ dent, Mrs. Mary E. Hutil, will deliver the address. She is an able and inter­ esting speaker and there will be good music in attendance. All are invited to join in honoring the old soldiers.
