N\ ^ JOHN HfeNDftiCKSTT Matter of A*toru«y Hfudriuk. ^ , • Aw«» »t Woodstock. ' riarv^ifd Herald: Mrs, John Hen dricks, mother of Attorney C. J. Hen dricks, passed away ou Monday evening at the family home at Woodstock, where she hat} been ill for some time. Two weeks ago she sustained a broken hip bone in a fall from the porch at home, and the shock following this and other ailments setting in hastened the end which had been expected since Sunday evening, when a change for the worse suddenly presented itself and she failed gradually until the summons came at 4:46 Monday afternoon. Mrs. Hendricks was a native of Ire land, her birthplace being in the County Kilkenny, and she was seventy-nine years old. Her maiden name was Jo hanna Larkin and she came to America in 1851, her parents, who were pioneers of northern Illinois, locating on a farm in eastern Lake county. In 1861 she was married to John Hendricks at Spring Grove, McHenry county, where they resided until 1897, when they moved to Woodstock in order to be with other members of the family who had become residents of the county seat. Mrs.' Hendricks was a home-making, home-loving woman, devoted to her family and attending to those duties committed to her card with exactness and winning the good will and respect of those with whom shp came in con tact. Beside the aged husband, to whom her death comes as a great blow, she is survived by two sons and two daughters, they being C. J. Hendricks of this city, F. H. Hendricks, Elizabeth, wife of Judge D. T. Smiley, and Sybil, the latter haying made her home with her parents. The funeral services were held Wed nesday afternoon at the Hendricks home at Woodstock, Rev. S.-C. Hay officiat ing, and burial was in Oakland center tery. PROBA TE NEWS --------m------------mini [Furnished by-McHenry County Abstract Company, Wooc^tock, Illinois.
