Kidney trouble has become so prevalent that it is not uncom mon for a child to be born afflicted with weak kidneys. If the child urinates toooften, if the urine scalds the flesh, or if, when the child reaches an age when it.should be able to control the passage, it is yet afflicted with bed-wet ting, depend upon it, the cause of the diffi culty is kidney trouble, and the first step should be towards the treatment of these important organs. This unpleasant trouble is due to a diseased condition of the kidneys and bladder and not to a habit as most people suppose. Women as well as men are made miser able with kidney and bladder trouble, and both need the same great remedy. The mild and the immediate effect of Swamp* Root is soon realized. It i? sol d by druggists, in fifty- cent and one-dollar size bottles, You may have a sample bottle by mail free, also a pamphlet telling all about Swamp-Root, including many of the thousands of testi monial letters received from sufferers who found Swamp-Root to be just the remedy needed. In writing Dr. Kilmer & Co., Binghamton, ]N. Y., be sure and mention this paper. Don't make any mistake, but remember the name, Dr. Kilmer's Swamp-Root, and the address, Binghainton, N. (From Elgin Courier, Wednesday, Dec. t5.] Miss Martha L. Wolff and Charles D McArthnr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adel- bert M. McArthur, and junior member of the firm of A. M. McArthnr & Son, were married at the parsonage of the First Congregational charch Wednesday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock, the single ring ceremony being read by the Reverend Charles L. Morgan. The bridal couple were attended by by Miss Anna Wolff, a sister of the bride, and Charles King, an old friend of the groom. The bride looked well in a gown of thin white mull, lace trimmed and made princess. Miss Anna Wolff also wore a lace trimmed white mull. Immediately after the ceremony the bridal party drove to the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. McArthnr, who served a wedding sap per. The table decorations were in smilax and white carnations. Mr. and Mrs. McArthnr left Wednes day evening for a short wedding trip. They will be at home January 1 at 60? South street, the home of the groom's parents. In the spring they plan to build in Elgin. Mrs. McArthnr came here from Mc Henry, where her mother resides, sev eral yearB ago. She has been employed at the Ackeman department store in the lace department np to last September. She is a young lady who is popular in circles where she is known. Mr. Mc Arthnr is well known here, having lived in Elgin since a young boy, and has had a successful business career with his father. ' Alone In a Sawmill at Midnight unmindful of dampness, drafts, storms, or cold, W. J. Atkins worked as Night Watchman, at Banner Springs, Tenn. Such exposure gave him a severe cold that settled on his lungs. At last he had to give up work.\ He tried many reme dies but all failed till he used Dr. King's New Disoyery. "After using one bottle" he writes, "I went back to work as well as ever." Severe Colds, stubborn Coughs, inflamed ^throat and sore lnngs, Hem orrhages Croup and Wooping Cough get quick relief and prompt care from this glorious medicine. 90c and $1.00. Trial bottle free, guaranteed by N. H. Petesch, F. Masquelet and others. School Notes. No more school till January Four months of school are finished, but reports will not toe ready until after the holidays. The senior girls have been binding notebooks as a part of their library work this week. The prettiest lot of waste baskets we ever saw went out of the first room for Christinas presents. The death of a member of oar school board and of a member of our eighth grade has mingled some sadness with oar Christmas rejoicihg. The pedagogy class will resume actnal teaching after the holidays. During the past month they have studied two books on the art of study and how to teach to study. Our trip to Harvard did not torn oat altogether as we had 'planned it, but the Harvard teams treated ours very nicely, after beatiug them, and it was a quite enjoyable trip. No one seemed the worse for it, in spite of the bitterest weathei thus far this year. Our basket ball teams have the true spirit of school sport; they can take defeat without be ing soured by it; they can treat a team that beats them as graciously as one they might defeat; they can conduct themselves as young gentlemen and ladies continuously as tho it were a matter of habit and not occasional, which is the best proof that they are by nature what they seem.
