The zoology class is studying about crayfish this week. The tenth and eleventh grades had a test in zoology last Friday. The reviews of the books read last month by the high school pupils were quite well done. Florence Knox, Agnes Tesch, Fran­ ces Welsh and Mary Burke discuss current events this week. Those absent on Monday were Hazel Robison, Inez Bacon, Eleanor Phalin, Lester Sherman and James Boyle. The McHenry girls'basketball team is going to Crystal Lake Saturday night to play the Crystal Lake girls. Eight pupils took the preliminary eighth grade examination last Satur­ day at the McHenry high school: Margaret Fay, Ringwood: Chas. J. Wheeler, Harsh district No. 36; Emma Pint, Elizabeth Neiss, Clara E. Degen, Irene E. Buhr, parochial school; Clara Frisby, Walter Sattem", Sherman Hill school. ATTACKS SCHOOL PRINCIPAL. A severe attack on school principal, Chas. B. Allen, of Sylvania, Ga., is thus told by him: "For more than three years," he writes, "I suffered in­ describable torture from rheumatism, liver and stomach trouble and diseased kidneys. While at work at the Everett Hunt­ er boat factory here Wednesday, John Worts, an employe of the factory, re­ ceived a badly lacerated hand when that member came in contact with a circular saw. So bad was the wound found to be by the physicians in at­ tendance that amputation of one fin­ ger was found necessary. Howard and son Raymond, were business visitors in the windy city Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Lowell and chil­ dren of Algonquin spent Sunday with McHenry relatives. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Gaylord left Wednesday for a week's visit with rel­ atives at Cylinder, la. Peter Wirfs, who is on the police force at Waukegan, is a guest at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Casper Wirfs. Misses Augusta and Bertha Buchert of this place passed a few days the first of the week as the guests of Mr. anu Mrs. Fred Duensing at Algonquin. Misses Alta and Varena Wentworth passed Saturday and Sunday at the home of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Lamphere, at Carpenters- ville. Frank Martin drove his car to Chi­ cago last Friday, where he had some new improvements added. Mr. Martin was accompanied to the windy city by his sister, Mrs. E. E. Bassett, and her daughter, Floribel. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Wentworth were Carpentersville visitors last Fri­ day. The day was passed in the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. E.
