WALS... s in Lake, county realise extent to which the nttrimooiitl from Grayslake developed during the past year or so. The fact Is that the paper has grown to such an extent that it is salary of th« raised about 1600 a yerr aqd there is no telling where it is to stop. The paper is managed by a mail named Schlosser and he has it printed In Chicago, taking ths printed stock to Grayslake where he mails it out to love-lorn victims all over the world. It is because the paper is mailed at Grayslake monthly that receipts of the postoffice have increased so greatly and if things keep on it is said that little Grayslake may jump into a first-class postoffice instead of remain ing in the lower class. It ie said the monthly mail of the office runs as high as one and; two dray-loads a month. The. papers are taken to the office of the mariager where two stenographers are busy all the time answering correspondence, mailing papers, etc. It develops that almost every month Deputy United States Marshal Wilmofc j of Waukegan is sent out from head-1 quarters in Chicago with an expert and they examine the publication which is being mailed out. They ex amine the contents very carefully and so far they have allowed it all to pass, finding nothing objectionable to it. It is stated that, the manager carries a notice in which he states that he is not responsible for any of the elaims made in his ads, that he knows noth ing of the facts contained therein* e^., thus removing responsibility from bis own shoulders. He carries two kinds of ads. One he charges fe.00 for, which carries mere- ly the advertisement of the love-siek person; the other carries a picture of the victim and costs' $5.00 per Inser tion. Is is said the picture kind is the one that brings she .best results and lie urges people to adopt that sort of ad. The manager advertises bis paper in the Police Gazette other big publications and in thai way he gets up a big circulation. Plans of the matrimonial fixer at Grayslake are kept very secretive and; few Grayslake people have been able to get hold of one of his papers. They; are guarded carefully Mid many have long desired to get bold of a oopy but have failed. _ C R E A M BAKING POWDER 'Jwim '"feaktaf ' rtvm better in©# warn ft* m pwparafffls® like It eqnaK Jt fur qnfteMy and amiiiagp and pwforw*. One ol the most magnificent railway passenger terminals in the world is that of the Chicago & Northwestern company, which will be opened in Chi cago within a few months. The new station with its right-of-way area of thirty-seven acres will cost more than $25,000,000. The structure is regarded as a marvel in the Way of modern mil- way station construction. Active work on the construction of the new station was started in November, 1906, and ex pectations are that the station will be ready for occupsmey this summer. Engineer Murdock and Conductor Fur- ney, two of the oldest employes in the company's service and well known railroaders on this division, it is said, will have the honor of running tlw first train into the new station. ATTACKS SCHOOL PRINCIPAL. A severe attack on school principal, Chas. B. Alleii, of Sy.lv ania, Ga., is thus told by him: "For more than three years," he write*, "I suffered in describable torture from rheumatism, liver and stomach trouble and diseased kidneys. All remedies failed till 1 used Electric Bitters, but four bottles of this wonderful remedy cured me completely." Such results are com- |<iou. Thousands bless them for curing stomach trouble, female complaints, kidney disorders, biliousness, and for new health and vigor. Try them. Only 50e at N. H. Petesch'i aad F. Maaquelet**. The value of a Bell telephone is par ticularly evident in emergency situa tions. It opens a quick way to relief. Occidents, delays, hurried departures, unexpected arrivals, sickness, fire, bur glary--all come in this category. Time, uiouey, convenience--often life itself-r4epend upon prompt communi cation. Relief may be in sight'or a thousand miles away. It matters not. The local and long distance Bell telephone can be used in either situation. Chi cago Telephone Company.
