This hall is drawing as large a crowd as any hall in McHenry county. One hun dred couples at a dance at any hall in these parts is considered very large. The pastor and members of St. John's Catholic church here held a picnic at Nell's Columbia parte on Fox river on Wednesday of this week and as a result the church treasury was en riched tb a considerable extent. The village trustees met in special session, with President Stoffel presid ing, by the request of the Public Ser vice company for the purpose of con sidering a new street lighting proposi tion which they would like to put in McHenry. The expense of this meet ing to be paid by the Public Service company. ' Trustees present: Barbian, Cham- berlin, Fisher, Nickels, Spencer and Weber. On motion by Nickels, seconded by Spencer, that the lighting proposition be given more consideration until the next regular board meeting. Motion carried. We are told that Mr. Lathrop will go to the Wauconda plant. John Barbian is nursing a very sore ear since Tuesday. He was in the iict of cranking his automobile when the engine "kicked" back, with the result that that member came in contact with the radiator with great force. Several stitches were required to mend the damage done. Dr. Wells took care of the case.
