Church Notes Fourteen united fcith the church last Sunday morning. Twenty-two members of the choir and twelve others Went to Greenwood Friday evening. The Ladies' Aid society nfeets this Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Herman Bruell. Please bear in mind that the hour of church services Sunday morning is 10:30 and Sunday school at 11:45. The Ladies' Cemetery society will meet at the home of Mrs. E. E. Kni- lans, Sept. 28. It is requetsed that all members be' present, as this is to be the last meeting before the annual dinner. On Friday evening, Sept. 29, James Garvin, a lecturer for the Chicago Daily News, will give a lecture with stereoptican slides on South America. There will be special music by the choirs before the lecture. This prom ises to be a pleasant and instructive evening. Edwin Walline, president of the Students' Volunteer Union of Chica go, will be with Mr. Parker next Sun day, Sept. 24, and will preach in the morning and speak at the evening service on the C. Relatives here received word from the Hutson family at Belleview, Flor ida, that Mark was recovering nicely from his operation and that his moth er, who has been very ill, was some what better. Ostend feels quite proud of their school this year. They have sixteen pupils and one more to enter later. This is the largest school here for veral years.
