As a graduate of tfie Caruthers School of Music of Chicago, Miss Lauer has adapted herself to the dif ficult art of teaching little tots their first lessons in music. She gives the children one class instruction atnd one private lesson far, 75 cents. The class lesson of the Caruthers method which is always open to visitors has revolutionized piano instruction. Next Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, in memory of the forty hours d\iring which the body of Jesus lay in the sepulchre, St. Mary's parish will open in solemn ceremony the annual devo tion to the Blessed Sacrament. This beautiful devotipn dates its origin as Jffar back as the year 1534 and all other devotions pate before it as the ffstars at the coming dawn. A re- demptorist father from St. Alphonsus' church, Chicago, will conduct this three day devotion, giving his prin cipal sermon at 7:30 every evening, partly in German, but mostly in En glish. Additional talks will be given Monday and Tuesday at 9:00 a. m., and Sunday at 10:30. All men and young men have been called to ap pear at the railing at the 8 o'clock mass Sunday, the remainder of the parish Monday and Tuesday morn ing. A grand turnout is expected. sThe school sisters will decorate the /church most elaborately for f&is sol emnity and flowers are kindly solic ited from all sides. Tuesday even ing the solemn ritual usually observed at the close on such occasions will be graced by the presence of the neighboring clergy. The presidents of all Catholic societies have been in vited o appoint a delegation of ten mebmers to represent the society in the grand procession that will con clude the ceremonies of the last night.. A choir of flower, girls uniformly dressed in white will carry flowers and a number of the little boys in white will be a new sight this time.
