Water. Section 12 Meter Rate* The water rates to be charged shall be aa follows, per annua: 5000 gallons or under, per quarter, 87Vic per 1000. Over 5,000 and under 10,900, par quarter, 33c per 1000. Over 10,000 and under 20,0000, per quarter, 30c per 1000. Over 20,000 and under 40,600, par Marter, 27c per 1000. Over 40,000 and under 60,000, per quarter, 24c per 1000. Over 60,000 and under 100,000 per quarter, 21c per 1000. 100,000 and over, 19c per 1000. In no case will a charge of less than One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50) per quarter be made by said Village to the consumers of water. All water rates, rents or taxes, shall be charged to the owner of the premises on which said service is located, or to the person, firm or corporation making said application, as set forth in Section Four (4), and the guarantor upon sa id application, and all water rates or rents not paid within thirty (30) day& after the close of each quarter, shall be placed in the hands of the Superintendent of Water Works for collection, who shall immediately proceed to collect the same, and to shut off the supply if payment be not made within three (3) days after demand, and he shall not again turn on the supply before all sums in arrears so due said Village for water are paid in fuH. All rates, except for lawn sprinkling, which shall be paid with the May installment for the entire season, in which case a pro-rata for six months, to November 1, shall be colletted. the season commencing May 1 of each year. Persons paying for any additional 50-ft. for lawn sprinkling shall be entitled to three additional hours for each 50-ft. additional front paid for, or may use any extra sprinkler or sprinklers during the prescribed time of five hours. The above rates, rules and regulations shall be subject to change or amendments without notice by resolutions of the board of trustees. A11 wagons or carta used for the purpose of street sprinkling within the village shall be charged for a license, each the sum of ive (5) dollars per annum, which sum shall be in addition to the sum charged for permit to use water from the village hydrants for said vehicle; provided, however, that before issuing audi license the superintendent of water works shall prescribe the kind of vehicle to be used, specifying particularly the capacity of the tank, the number and gise. of the holes in the sprinkler and the distance of the same from the ground, and also such other general regulations as he may deem necessary concerning the use of said vehicle upon the public streets, and the use by them of the village hydrants for the due observance of which he may require from the person taking such lieense a good and sufficient bond. An ordinance providing for the construction of sidewalks of concrete or cement and also providing for * penalty for the violation of certain provisions of said ordinance. Be it ordained by the" President and Board .of Trustees of the Village of McHenry, of the County of McHenry and State of Hlinoia, as follows, towit: Section 1. That all walks hereafter laid in any public street, alley or place in said village shall be of concrete or cement, unless otherwise provided for, and shall not be less than four (4) feet in width; that .the excavation for the bed of said walks shall not be less than one and onequarter (1^4) feet in depth, said bed to be filled, or made of gravel, sand or good live cinders to within four (4) inches of grade line, said filling to be thoroughly tamped or rammed, upon said bed shall be placed or laid three (3) inches of concrete work, to be mixed in the following proportions, to-wit: One portion of "the best Portland cement to seven (7) parts clean sand and gravel, or broken stone, except as to cross walks, which shall be laid with five (5) inches of concrete of the same proportion as aforesaid, said concrete shall be thoroughly mixed in dry form, then wet and mixed again. One inch of top finishing in the following proportions, to-wit: One portion of the best Portland cement to one and onehalf (1%) parts of clean sharp sand to be thoroughly mixed dry before wetting, said top finishing to "he thoroughly floated down and troweled off and creased at each block, said walks shall be laid in separate blocks of uniform size, but not to exceed four and one-half (4tt) feet in length, said work shall be bound in good and substantial form set true to grade. Section 2. That all -sidewalks hew- t after built, constructed or relaid within said village shall be built with a slope of one quarter of one inch the foot, toward the center of the street on which they are laid. Section 3. The grade for all sidewalks within the corporate limits of said village, under and in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance or any other ordinances which shall or may be hereafter passed, shall be established by a competent engineer employed by said Board of Trustees for that purpose, and said grade (Continued on Next Page) T*
