The rooming houses of .that city are now taxed to capacity with these students and rents are going skyward. One house has been rented for $200 a month. An automobile bus line has now been established between Lake Geneva and Burlington, Wis. The line is operated by the Milwaukee Electric Railway & Light Co. to connect with its road at Burlington. The company has cansed to be erected over the river at Milwaukee a huge sign reading: "Beautiful Lake Geneva is now in close touch with Milwaukee by our electric car and bus line via Burlington." Quinlan, he .pells theifclA-Si A A .v* • fc With enough liquor stored away in the basement of his home to start a saloon, Joseph Brown of Spring Grove was taken into custody Monday night by McHenry county authorities under the new search and seizure act. The arrest was the first in this county -since the new law became effective. The affidavit for Brown's arrest was signed by State's Attorney V S. Lumley of Woodstock and the warrant contained the signature of Judge C. P. Barnes. Woodstock authorities claim to have evidence that Brown was selling liquor. Brown was taken to Woodstock Monday night and was to be arraigned for hearing late Tuesday afternoon. The arrest and trial will be anxiously watched all over the northern part of the state. Sheriff Roy Stewart and Deputy Sheriff Charles Wandrack, armed with the warrant, took the former Spring Grove saloonkeeper into custody late Monday afternoon. In the building the authorities found twelve quarts at apricot brandy, four cases of beer, a three gallon keg of sherry wine, one keg of sweet Catawba, half dozen bottles of Vermouth, five quarts of fancy wine, twelve quarts of rock and rye one case of creme de menthe and scores of bottles of mixed liquors. The evidence was hauled to Wood stock in automobiles.
