Dancing on the boat enroute added to the zest of the party. Arriving at the Bald Knob hotel the group immediately adjourned to the dining room, where a sumptuous steak dinner was awaiting the many eager palates. During the dinner program the class was called to order by President John Fay and a motion was made and carried to hold a reunion every year on the second Saturday of August. The class elected a committee, to take care of its business affairs and the program for the coming year. Jhe members of thexcommittee are: William Martin, chairman; Theodore Miller, Jean Matthews, Adeline Perkins, Elsie Regner and Herman Steffes. After a round t$ble visit the party spent the remainder of the evening in dancing and general merry-making. EASTERN STAR - The fnembers of McHenry chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, are invited to attend a picnic given by McHenry Lodge, No. 158, A. F. & A. M. in Roy Harrison's woods on Sunday, Aug. 19. Bring basket lunch. Coffee and lemonade will be furnished. Games and entertainment will be planned. The worthy matron of McHenry chapter, Mrs. Belle Hankermeyer, will act as conductress at this meeting. The associate matron of McHenry chapter, Miss Arline Harrison, filled the station of associate matron at guests' night, at Bethel chapter, Elgin, on last Friday evening. The next meeting of McHenry chapter will take place to Monday evening. Responds To Fire Alarm A fire scare at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John McEvoy about 11:30 o'clock Tuesday forenoon, gave occasion for the call of the fire department. Their daughter, Mrs. Boyd, had been cleaning some shelves and burning the papers in a laundry stove. This caused a great deal of smoke which came back ir.to the room"; and the basement, filling the house with smoke. As soon as help arrived the trouble was cleared up. 1 Attends Convention Miss Lillian Doherty left this Thursday morning for St. Louis, where she will attend the National Catholic Students' convention, which will be in session in that city for three days.
