To Erect New Building at Crystal Late wn ' A* new "Service li« atl.imtnns" "building project for Crystal Lake to 'cost approximately |176,000 has been announced by the Public Service Co of Norther Illinois, in a statement made last week by E. J. Larkin, Local District Manager. Work on the project will start shortly, and so far as is possible workers residing in Crystal Lake and vicinity will be employed. C. E. Billings, Barrington, has been awarded the construction contract. The building which will be completed next spring will be located on a tract comprising slightly more than 17 acres, owned by the Public Service, Comn»ng of Crystal Lake Avenue aid just east of the Elgin branch of the Northwestern Railroad. Itrf will provide headquarters for the operating departments, storerooms and garage facilities for about 30 cars serving this vicinity. The building, to cover 25,000 square feet of floor area, has been designed for expansion to four times the size now necessary. Mr. Larkin states that the building will be attractively designed and a distinct public improvement for Crystal Lake. The architecture is a modified form of the modern style with attractive plaster lighting embodied into the architectural plan. H.
