Call For Your Family Ticket McHenry; Dee. 1«, 1930 McHenry Plaindealer: To the Editor: I trust that you will grant me a little space to set forth a few of the impressions I gathered at the Charity Concert given last Thursday evening by the combined Community High School orchestras of Dundee, Crystal Lake and McHenry, under the auspices of the McHenry Mothers club and the McHenry Council of the Catholic Daughters of America. The various numbers were rendered by the combined orchestras in a manner reflecting great credit upon the young/people composing them and upon their able director, Walter N. Sears. Great precision and clarity Of tone, which I have failed to note In similar organizations elsewhere, gave evidence not only of careful training, but also of the talent and zeal of the players who responded Readily to the slightest move of their leader's baton. The solo numbers, too, were excellently rendered. All in all, I considered the evening very enjoyably spent and I had but one regret--that the auditorium was not filled to capacity. There was room for many more than were present. Of course, the weather was none too pleasant and very likely many who had bought tickets were kept at home tyjr it; but, it seems to me, that when a communiy has so fine an or ganization, the people of that com munity should show their appreciation and give encouragement to their young people who are so ardently striving for the better things of life. Empty seats are no encouragement to a speaker or performer. The young people who came from Dundee and Crystal Lake, deserve special commendation for braving the Weather and setting such a fine ex ample of charity and civic pride. • 'V---.... "•"•y. fiHAS.
