It was decided to put said trucks on the work and widen the high narrow dangerous pike, near the Richmond Cemetery and also the narrow pike at the Townaehd farm, near. Route 173. That the County Superintendent of Highways, C. L. Tryon, reports to us that the work is satisfactorily completed. Which work consists of the ! accidents, were ordered removed and driving of five piles, placing a steel new pipe culverts installed; also the -beam under the southeast corner of the OLCOTT bridge near the Boone Caunty "bridge resting on three of the piles, line was ordered to be widened on the the construction of a new creosoted north side. lumber wing wall and removing the! complaint having been made that the "damaged portion of the concrete floor ~ -- (about 36 square feet) and replacing the same, that the cost for said work action on the same. We' were well satisfied with its performance and its was found to be as represented and like the one seen at Rockford. Illinois, except that the large gears behind the circle were not inclosed. To Inclose these gears would cost about $100.00 and the Illinois Road Builders Supply Company agreed to drop $100.00 off the price of the grader, making the price of same $1400.00. It was decided to accept the grader on behalf of McHenry County and an order was drawn In favor of the Illinois Road Builders Company in the sum of $1400.00 in full payment of said machine. The matter of surfacing with asphalt, the half mile of road leading toward Twin Lakes from State Bond Issue Route 60 one mile north of Richmond was discussed, and the proposed road was inspected with that in view. Your Committee again met. on the 3rd day of May, 1932, to inspect the • County's State Aid System of Roads and plan the season's work. The Asphalt road along the south shore of Crystal I^ake leading to Grafton Park was inspected. This toads, has been built about three years ago by the Lake Development Company, one mile in length, helped by the Towns of Grafton and Algonquin, paying about $3000.00 toward the cost of same. The Laka Development Company to maintain same for; a period of three years. Said road 1s now a State Aid Road, under the County's jurisdiction, and the three years maintenance period ' is now up. Both ends of the road were in fairly good condition, but the central portion was full of holes and In very bad condition. Mr. S. A. Love, of the Tuf- Tread Corporation of Chicago, Illinois was present and advised that these holes be patched and the entire road be given a coat Of hot asphalt and covered with pea gravel. It fcas decided to patch the holes as soon as weather permitted.
