First the road had been graded to aflat top and 30 feet' Width of roadway. Tl -'i the dirt for the middle 20 teet to. a depth of 3- inches was scarified and graded out- on to th«> shoulders, so a.* to m.-k-.a trench for the gravel.. The iriavel 'ha-T been in place about four months and was packed'«:nootTi and .theshoulders held it in place,, in marker, contrast to the new road south of f»ree.nwood which had been built 8 inches thick bv what is known as the feather -d^e. .method. Your Committee met at the Court House on September 21st' and opened bids on. approximately five carloads of stoker coal for the 1935-36 heating season to be used at the Court House, and. awarded the contract to Hall & Eckert Company of Woodstock, Illinois for the contract price of Three Dollars and Ninety Five Cents per ton F. O. B. car, Woodstock. Illinois. The original of said contract and bid being hereto attached and made a part of this report.
