LESTER EDTNOER, Co. freas Subscribed and sworn < to before ..me this 10th day of January, 1936. R. D. WOODS, County Clerk The Committee on Roads and Bridges made the following report which, on motion of Supr. Brown and duly seconded by Supr. Wrifcht apd the roll being called, was declared unanimously adopted. to-wlt: Mr. Chairman apd Gentlemen of the Board of Supervisors, McHenry county. Illinois: The undersigned members of the road and bridge committee Tor said County, would beg leave to submit the following report on the matters before them That we met at Wood«iock, Illinois, on the 23rd day of December, 1935, an<l then went to Fox River Grove and looked over the proposed location of a new road leading from Tower I^ske, In Lake County, Illinois, down the south side of Fox River, toward Fox River Grove in- McHenry County, Illinois. Joint action between the two counties would be desirable In establishing the road Your Committee decided to request that the Right of Way Committee secure options on the right of way for said route so as to determine the approximate cost as near as possible, before taking further action on the matter Your Committee again met at Woodstock, Illinois, on the 4th day of January, 1936, together with the McHenry County Right of Way Committee and a delegation from Lake County and William Wascher, highway commissioner of Algonquin Township and discussed the matter of the proposed new road leading from Tower Lake toward Fox River Grove. We decided to or<Jer a survey of the road so that descriptions for options on the right of way could be drawn. The Right of Way Committee to secure signed options for said land needed before proceeding further In matter of said proposed improvement. Your Committee again met on the llth day of January, 1936, and ordered paid, bills of a general nature, chargeable to the McHenry County Patrol System of Roads as a whole, Including insurance, repairs and supplies for County owned machinery and costs, involved In making the stone for proposed asphalt top for Greenwood road, known as Section 7 M.F.T., re-lmbursement for which would come from motor fuel tax funds when said atone la used in the sum of $1238.14 Bills chargeable to the various sections of the County Patrol System of Roads, for labor and materials at rates heretofore approved by this Board, were audited and paid as follow*: the City of Woodstock and had before them the matter of fire insurance on County Buildings with" Mr. J. F. Mitchen. County Insurance Supervisor and Agent for the Fidelity Phoenix Insurance Company, together with their District Engineer. Your committee was .inforpied that the State Fire Insurance Inspector had given McHenry County another cut in rate on Counfy Buildings which will amount to a net saving of about $800 In five years on the same amount of Insurance. Your committee would therefore recommend that McHenry County adopt the new rate and due- to the new addition to the County Clerk s Vault and other extensive repairs on County Buildings, your committee would further recommend that we add. about ten thousand dollars additional Insurance, on said-. 'lintv PrWpvrty, and that we ailot to each of the 55 insurance agencies an additional, amount of. insurance in "the sum of $lM and th&t, ,fhe halahce be written, by Mr. Mltchen as. Court House in the City of Woodstock. Illinois, on January 9th, 1936, together with the County Treasurer and reprecentatives of the Bentson Manufacturing Company of Aurora, and received quotations from said Company on roller shelves and instrument files for the Treasurer's Office and would recommend that the said• equipment be purchased from said Company for the price of $200 to include delivery and installation The quotation is here submitted and made ariia-rt of this report. At thy^time of entering into a contract with the Bentson Manufacturing Company for equipment for the County Clerk's Vault, a contract was let for a steel ladder for said vault for the price of $77 and when the ladder was delivered It was partly of oak construction and your committee at that time did not approve same for payment. Mr. Peterson also informed your committee that the wood ladder meets the approval of the fire underwriters of the State of Illinois." Your committee would therefore recommend that the County Clerk be instructed to draw an order payable to said Company in the amount of $45 00 in full payment of the ladder in question. Your committee would further recommend that an eight column Victor Adding Machine for the price of $160.25 and* a ten column Victor Adding Machine for the price of $127 50 be purchased from L. V.
