Hemmer addressed the Board W|d stated that since the Regular June meeting, the County Clerk and Clerk of "this Board sustained the lo^.s of his father, James M. Woods, who passed away June 27th. at the home of his son. and that, he would move at this time that the Board of Supervisors extend their sympathy to the children of the deceased, and that the Chairman of this Board be instructed to hotify the said Children of this action. "Said nqtion was duly seconded by Supr. Turner and was declared carried unanimously by a rising vote. The Committee appointed to select a list of persons equal to 100 for each trial term of the Circuit Court for the ensuing year, made a report showing such selection, which report was read by the Clerk. McConnell that the Board of Supervisors of McHenry County appronrlate 1225.00 to the 4-H Club of McHenry County out of the General fund, and that the County Clerk be directed to draw an order on the County Treasurer fo!r the same: and on roll call, Suprs. Stockwell, Wright, Beck, Clawson, Hughes, Kuecker, Ackman, Hemmer, Stewart, Harrison, Turner, May, Preund, Hale and Fllip, and Asst. Supr. McConnell voted aye. Supr. McHenry Cpon- • ty, Illinois: The undersigned members of the road and bridge committee for said County would beg leave to submit the following report? on the matters before them. That we met at Woodstock, Illinois, on the 29th day of July, 1936 and received bids for black topping the Rliigefleld t, Road, known as Section 4-1-T. Five bids were received and the bid of Andresen Corporation, 4550 Sheridan Road, Chicago, Illinois in the sum of $10818.46 was the lowest bid received, end we decided to awqrd the contract for said improvement W them, and authorised the Chairman of this Board and the County Clerk to sign said contract on behalf of McHenry County, Illinois. We then went to the Barnard gravel pit near Greenwood, and inspected the County's Crushing plant and decided to order a new fly wheel and make minor repairs on same, costing about $100. Ackman that the report of the Committee on County Poor Claims be adopted by this Board and that $3,500.00 be appropriated and transferred from the General Fund to the Pauper Fund for the pavment of said claims and that the County Clerk be directed to draw orders to the Supervisors on the Count v Treasurer for the same. And the roll being called said motion was declared ananlmousiy carried. Mr. B. Powell, the of the State of Illinois. Police Radio Department, appeared before the Board accompanied by Sheriff Henry Nulle, and outlined In detail the state hookup and the manner In which McHenry County could avail themselves of this service. After some discussion it was regularly moved by Asst. Supr. McOonnell and duly seconded by Supr. Freund that said matter be referred to the Purchasing Committee for report at the next meeting to be held September 8, 1936. Motion declared unanimously carried. • % Mrs. Jordan, a State Certification Agent on surplus foods, appeared before the Board with William Mueller, an auditor for the I. E. R. C., and outlined the procedure necessary to be taken by the overseers of the poor to qualify for surplus foods for their rsllsf clients. A general discussion was than had withregard to all relief matters. Hess, County Veterinarian, would beg leave t? submit the following report on the matters and things before them: At the Special July meeting of the Board of Supervisors held July 14, 1936. your committee recommended to said Board Dr. S, A. Rldgway of Paris. Illinois, to till the vacancy In the office of County Veterinarian, w.hich was approved |n meeting assembled. Your committee then notified the State of Illinois Department of Agriculture, of said -appointment and were- informed by said department that the appointment did not meet with their approval, but they would approve the appointment or Dr. B. F. Kennelly of Elgin, Illinois, one of the applicants.. Your committee would therefor recommend the appointment of the above named B. F. Kennelly under the same contract as . heretofore entered between said County Vetetirtarian and the Board of Supervisors, and that the County Clerk b* instructed to notify the State of Illinois. Beck, Chairman of the Purchasing Committee, statod that the desks and chairs were being used by the old Age Pension Board and no doubt would be returned in time for £he next session of the Board.
