A dessert lunch was three ribbons on his assortment of blooms. He received a blue ribbon on his red Phipps Gladioli, Maid of Orleans took third prize and a yellow seedling he had raised, received honorable mention. His flowers were 'exhibited in Class D for specimens bloomed in named varieties. All exhibits in the flower show were judged for points in color harmony, relation of1 flower to container, proportion, distinction and perfect arrangement. % Mr. Thompson, who is very interested in flowers, has, in his garden, about 1,800 gladioli in a beautiful variety of colors.
