This is an increase of $54,348.39 over the bill for 1937. The total bill for 1937 $1,257,835.40. The final work on the extension of taxes in the office of County Clerk Rayrhond D. Woods was made Friday and all of the books were placed in the hands of County Treasurer C. Frank Daly the following day. The increase of $54,389.39 is due jpostly to an increase in the levy for poor relief, school and for the county to take care of the "bridge bond issue made necessary for the construction of twelve new bridges in the county. Mrs. Jennie Gorman, who has been very ill with heart trouble at the home of her son, Earl, on Court street, is on the gain. Linus Newman, who has been under the doctor's care most of the winter, |s on the gain and now able to be out $ little. . Mrs. Peter Diedrich, who has been ill at her farm home' near this city, is Improving but still confined to her bed. Mrs. Henry Felmeten, Sr., who has been ill with bronchial pneumonia at her home near Emerald Park, is slowly improving, but will be confined to her bed for some time. _ Mrs. James Hughes, Jr., is a patient at the Women's and Children's Memorial hospital in Chicago, where she underwent an operation last Friday. Freund, Fox Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Freund, son, Tommy, and Mr. and Mrs. George W. May and children. A lovely lunch was served with a birthday cake for little Donna May, who was one year old. Paul Weber transacted business in Chicago on Thursday. Betty Sullivan, six-year-old daughter of Mrs. Beryl Sullivan, is ill with the mumps at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Ina Gracey. Dolly Feltes spent Saturday with her grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Feltes. Guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Freund on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. George Wagnqp and children, Miss Mildred Freund of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. George Hiller and family, Johnsburg. Harvey Freund, who spent the past six months in California, returned home on Suncfay. George A. May is confined to his bed with the flu. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Huff motored to Chicago on Sunday to attend the christening of the twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Huff born February 21. The babies were christened Joan Catherine and Dianne Marie at St. iFerdinand church on Belmont avenue.
