Stewart that the License fee for new taverns only, be pro-rated in the following manner: That if application is made in , fhe first six months period, that the full fee of U50.d0.be charged, and that if the application is made after the first sixmonths period, that the license fee be pro-rated by the month and that no license issue for less than a two months period, and the roll being called, said notion was declared unanimously carried. The matter of the repair of the township and County bridges that were washed out in the Spring Floods was brought before the Board for general discussion. Asm. Supr. Rosenthal stated that he callecPCongressman Reed and was informed that all P. W. A. funds were exhausted, and tlfftt additional funds would, not be forthcoming until Congress meets in January. Supr. Stockwell informed the Boaid that he had received word from the Eric Bola'ndei Construction Co. that the P. W. A. To„ the Chairman and Gentlenjen of the Board of Supervisors: Your Committee on Finance Would beg leave to submit the following resolution and reco'mmend its adoption towit: WhereaSi there is not at this time sufficient money in the Treasury of McHenry -County' to defray the ordinary expenses of the County, and it is necessary at this time to provide a fund to meet all 'such expenses by issuing and disposing of anticipation warrants to be drawn against the County Tax levied in t)ie year of 1938 in the way and manner provided by the Statute of this State for the issuing and disposing of warrants. We decided to go to Rockford, Illinois on the 20th of December 1938, to inspect an Allis-Chalmers 12 foot grader'which was to be on display, The trip was made and we viewed' a." demonstration of. the -latest model Allis-Chalmers .12 foot grader, the main feature of which is the leaning frame by which it is possible to equalize the weight on the four wheels, which have rubber tires. The cost is in> the.neighborhood of $2800. We again met on the 29th day of December 1938 to receive bids for the construction of the County Bond Issue bridges, on 1Jhe County State Aid System. The lowest bid received on the Greenwood Bridge over the Nipperslnk Creek, was of the E. M. Melahn Construction Company of Algonquin, IlUnois in the sum of $25,728.30; Warf Bridge in the Town of Riley, by the Eric Bolander Construction Company of Libertyville, Illinois, in the sum of $17,409.42; that on the Alden Bridge, just north of the Village by Herman Mass of Algonquin, Illinois, in the sum of $5,422.82 and that of the Lillibridge Bridge, south of the City of Harvard, Illinois, by Herman Mass of Algonquin, Illinois, In the sum of $3708.02. We again met on the 2nd day of January 1939 at \Yoodsto®k, Illinois, together with E. M. Melahn, Eric Bolander and Herman Mass, the contractors having the lowest bids pn the above named bridges on the County State Aid System of Roads. The contractors stated they would start construction at once; that they expected to hire residents of McHenry County insofar as was practicable; that they expected to pay union wages. !
