"Government has no more important duty than that of relief for those who through no fault of their,, own are in need. This duty must bi discharged honestly and fairly and comnletely without regard to politics. "Our country should be a good neighbor, but that does not mean giving away the markets that belong to our own people that are so sorely needed to provide private employment. What America needs is jobs -- there is no substitute for a -good job in private enterprise. We must keep open and develop new oppor tunities for the youth of America, for the spirit and courage of youth of each generation has pioneered the progress of our country. They will not fail now. "We must protect the American farmer and the American market for the American farmer and the American workman. I will oppose the centralization of power in the hands of a few elected officials and further delegation of legislative and judicial authority to commissions, bureaus and individuals not elected and not answer, able to the people. "America is a nation of progress -- she never retreats.
