BE IT ORDAINED BT the President and the Board of Trustees of the McHENRY TOWNSHIP FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT: SECTION 1 Spectators at fires.) It shall be the duty of all spectators at fires to obey all the orders of the members of the Fire Department on duty there with respect to keeping away from the scene of the fire or the handling of or interference with the apparatus of the department. SECTION 2 Property.) The members of the Fire Department shall have charge and custody of property removed from the scene of a fire by them to avoid loss or damage, until the same is turned over to the owner or the agent of the owner thereof. SECTION 3. Causes of fires.) It shall be the duty of the Chief of the Fire Department to investigate into the cause of any accidental or destructive fire occurring in the district; and in case there is reason to suspect that there was any criminal act or violation of a district ordinance or state statutes in connection therewith, he shall report the .aame to the District Attorney. SECTION 4. Arrests.) The Fire Chief and members of the Fire Department shall have the power to arrest any person at or near the scene* of a fire for interference with the Fire Department in the performance of its duties, or for the commission of any crime or ordinance violation in connection therewith. SECTION 5 Following Fire Apparatus Prohibited.) Upon the sounding of gongs and warning devices used upon fire apparatus or fire patrol vehicles, operators shall draw their vehicles as near to the right curb as is reasonably possible and shall remain standing until such fire apparatus has passed. It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle, other than one on official business, to follow any fire apparatus, in response to a fire alarm, closer than one block, or .to park any vehicle within the blopk where the fire apparatus has stopped to answer to a fire alarm. It shall further be unlawful for the operator of any car or vehicle to drive over any unprotected hose of the fire department without the consent of the fire chief or the assistant in command. SECTION 6 This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and publication as provided by law. r ANTON M.
