NEW FLYING SCHOOL TO OPERATE NEAR WOODSTOCK A confirmed report last week stated that Woodstock is to have a private airport, complete with hangar, registration with the state, and a government okay on the flying field. The port is to be located on the property used this summer by the skating rink on route U. S. 20, just outside of the city limits. A five year lease on this property has been secured, with option to buy. The .port is to be named the Woodstock Flying school, and is a part of a dream come true for four young men employed at the Alemite Die Casting plant in Woodstock. They are Dave Bentley, Harvard, Whitney Woods, Big Foot, W:s., and Arthur Staines and Glen Russie of Woodstock. Leonard Drydyk, 24-year-old Milwaukee flying instructor, will serve in that capacity at the Woodstock school. His Taylor-cub plane will be used for instruction flights. Later two other shrps will be added to the equipment according to present plans, as will hangars for outside planes. MB.
