Friends and relatives were sorry to learn the death of John Oeffling. Mr, Oeffling passed away at his home here Saturday. Ftaneral services were held here Tuesday morning at the St. Peter's church at 9:30 a. m. Mr. Oeffling had been a resident of Volo for many years and will be misesd by all who knew him. Mrs. Frank St. George called at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Bernard Hanke. in Evanston Thursday. Mrs. William Wirt* is numbered on the sick list the past week. She was removed to St. Therese hospital, Waukegan, Wednesday evening. Her manf friends are very glad to learn that she is getting along nicely at this writing. William Lohmann and son, Raymond, of Libertyvile spent Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Fisher. Mrs George Scheid, Jr., of Wauconda called at the home of Senator And Mrs. Ray Paddock Monday. Mr and Mrs. Charles Slashing and j daughter, Nona Jane, i»f Hampshire, 111., spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vasey. Mrs. Bertha Grabbe of Waukegan is spending a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Wirt*. Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Dowell and son of Libertyville were Monday visitors at the home, of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Fisher. A number of friends and relatives gathered at the home of Mrs. Frank St. George Wednesday afternoon at a party in honor of Mrs. Joesph Wiser, Jr. Pinochle and five hundred furnished the diversion for the afternoon, Prizes were awarded .to Mrs. Sylvesn ter Lefflemann, Mrs. Artuhr Kaiser, Mrs. C.
