Eppel, the youngestlour sons of Jacob and Catherine Kock Eppel, was born December 29, 1882, in S«neca township. He was always a good student in the rural school wtych he - attepded and also in the Woodstbck high school. His school days over, he assisted his father and brother in the work on the farm, which was'always interesting to j him, not satisfied unless his work was of the best. His entire life was spent on the farm. Upon his marriage Feb. 3, 1909, to Miss Eva Silliman of Seneca, he purchased a farm near McHenry which he operated eleven years. Selling this farm, he purchased another which had since been his home. H« lived there twenty-two years.
