In the light of what is said and writte n by outstanding leaders, the religious people of the world must decide whether we will have an orderly dependable civilization or resort every twenty-five years to a war that disrupts our whole orderly process, and throws everything into confusion. It is the program of the churches to reach out to every last family and individual and bring them into the fellowship of some church. In the light of the above it is patriotic for every family to be faithful in their religious duties. Let us go, folks. Sunday school at 10:30 a.m. *Paul Walkington, superintendent. FREUND abouts of my friends, and also tends to cheer me in dull moments. As fai as dull moments are concerned, they are completely gone for the present. Have just started my "Airplane Mechanics" course and it is keeping me fully occupied. Here at Sheppard Field is located the largest "Mechanical School" in the world. Every ten days nine-hundred students are graduated and nine-hundred enter. The course itself is divided into eleven phases, each phase consisting of ten days, or approximately one | hundred and ten days' total. Each j squadron is composed of nine-hundrea men, four-hundred and fifty in the I morning shift, and four-hundred and 1 fifty in the afternoon shift; the former shift starting at 6 a. m. until 2 p. m., and the latter from 2 p. m., until 10 p. m. The instructors are composed of civilian and army teachers. Many of the army instructors are taken directly from the graduating classes of the school. The course itself, if a person was to pay for it, is equal to four thousand dollars. Quite an amount of money, when one looks at it from that angle. Everything is run very systematically and there la never a mix-up of any kind, at any time. It's rather remarkable wh'en you consider the amount of soldiers. In the camp itself there are between forty and fifty thousand soldiers all the time. There are ten "mess halls," and each mess hall takes care of from three to four thousand soldiers each day. I'll try and give you an idea of the food preparation for one meal (ask me, I worked on K. P. enough!): two' tons of potatoes, one-half ton sweet potatoes, one thousand pounds of beef, twenty cases peaches, three hundred gallons soup, four hundred loaves bread, hundred pounds of but* ter and three hundred pies. They also have a very large hospital, being capable of taking care of about five thousand soldiers at one time. The hospital has its own mess hall and supply department.
