KENNETH KRUEGER THREE M'HENRY CASUALTIES, 1942 ?SR. ANI* MRS. F. ALTMAN, MR. With one year of war ended and the second well on its way, mingled with the joy of remembering the births, marriages and golden wedding anniversaries, thoughts of the sadder aspects of 1942 must aiso, necessarily, creep into our minds. Among these are th«e war casualties of this vicinity for the past year. Considering that over 200 men from here are now in service, three casualties do not seem so high. Yet when one considers the ratio, taking intoi account the great amount of men serving throughout the country, the number mounts into a tremendous figure. Last March news was broadcast over the radio that a troop train had crashed in the east. Aboani were several McHenry soldiers, but only one, William A. Pearson, of Route i, McHenry, was killed. He was buried with military rites frcm St. Mary's church. Last Sept. 30 an ominous telegram arrived at the Ben J. Miller home R. D.
