INTERESTING NEARBY NEWS Henrietta Rak, nee Polacek, wife of Anton Rak, died of a heart attack in the car of Rex Wright, while on her way to cast her vote in the primary electidn last Tuesday, at Fox River Grove. Mr. Wright, chairman 6f local civilian defense, called about 1:30 p. m., to "drive her to the Grove Village Hall, just three blocks from her home. En route she complained of a sudden terrific "headache, and when she attempted to get out of the car, Mrs. Rak felt faint. Several women who were at the Village Hall, ran to the car to assist her, but found here was nothing they could do, "as she relaxed back into the seat of the car and died immediately. JOHN A. Earl Todd, a former Richmond resident and son of Mrs. Alma Todd, 1217 Pleasant St., Lake Geneva, Wis., was injured in action in Italy, March 1. A ; brother, Pvt. Walter Todd, died April 28, 1942, at the Wisconsin General hospital at" Madison, where jye was taken when an illness, contracted at camp, overtook him while he was home on furlough. ; The verdict of the musician's Union relative to the blacklisting of the Libertyville Township high schodl band, school, and band director still remains a secret. H. E. Underbrink, superintendent of the high school, said that a small error was holding up the union verdict, which is to be released to the public through the high school board. In a statement this week, Mr. Ackman said that the handbills advocating his candidacy were printed and distributed without his knowledge or consent and that he had absolutely no aspirations for the. office. There were two vacancies on the high school board to be filled at the regular elec^ tion, and only one candidate, Hale Denny.
