T.ht .Committee »il Klections presented the following report, to-wit: A pri 1 11, ra-t 5. State of Illinois, County of McHenry, ss. To the Chairman and Gentlemen of the Board of Supervisors: Your Committee on Elections would beg leave to report that thev met at the Court House on Wednesday, the 11th day of April, 1945 to consider the provisions of the Election Code of the State of Illinois as recently amended, providing that the Count: Boaid- of Supervisors may decrease the number of precincts for the Judicial Election to be held June 4. 1945 in Judicial Districts where there are no contests. Your Committee, after careful consideration, feel that a reduction of . the number of precincts for said t-leetiof» is not warranted for the reason that there i> a conflict by saio amendment to the Election Code'with the I erm&nent Registration of Electors Act now in operathin for all elections inc'Tnim^ Judicial I Klections. Iviiig the provision f.,r the I ?-eg ist rat ion a non-registered voter ami the manner in which they can vote Your Committee also feels thai irrcrardless of the fact that in this Judicial District there /is no onpo^ntjofy ih*flt each elector who d«*tres to vote should I not be inconvenienced and that du > to n u. in» i ipas rationing said elector should -not •as the best ! • " "-1 'o_ go out of his own pre- County in the State of Illinois and that iS!" his ,r'Sht of voting If it was not for the fact that exc * " Lf five rains and floods a few v».nrs aco washed out many" township bridges. McHenry County would be fntirely out of debt. The newly elected Chairman stated further that he would conduct the business of his office to the best .of his ability. Following the remarks of the Chairman. it was regularly moved by Stmr. • Meier and duly seconded by" Supr. ,Kuecket- that the call of the Sffeciai April, 1945 meeting, together With Publisher's certificate and Clerk's rertlficate of mailin? notices be app-rtvod' and entered of record and the Chnir- . rvin declared the motion unanimously _ carried.
