War Veterans" convention was held rt Wood- 'stock and was In charge oi the local ciitnp of said Veterans' organisation. He then outlined in detail the kind of convention that would be held and the fipproximate number of veterans that wculd att.-.td ;ind stated th«t *he cunvention was set for August 13. 1945. He informed tbe Roard th.\t the local organization was so small In number tl»at it was Impossible for them to raise funds to put on the onventlon and that thirteen years ago, the last time the convention was held in Woodstock, donations were made by the City CV unci and other organizations. Coi. Mit.er then made a request for an "appropriation of fir.0.00 to defray part of the expenses ol said convent»>n. He stated further that the City Council of the City of Woodstock had made a similar appropriation. After some discussion. It was regularly moved by Asst. «apr. McConneil and duly seconded by Supr. Mackeben that the request be granted and that the Board approprirate and pay to the Spanish American War Veterinarians' Association of Woodstock, Illinois, $150.00 to defray part of the cost of the convention as outlined and that the County Clerk be instructed to draw hn order on the County Treasurer for the same and the roll being called.
