That we met on the 16th day of August, 1945 and inspected the Greenwood- Richmond blacktop road known as Sectoin 3IT MFT, recently constructed by the Suburban Oil Company. We found same completed substantially in accordance with the plans, specifications and contract and decided to accept said improvement on behalf of Mc- Hern-y County, Illinois. We then went to Griswold Lake near Burton's Bridge In the Town of Nunda, McHenry County, Illinois and inspected the work being done on the East Riv»r Road known as Section 32 MFT. Deep peat has to be removed from several short sections of the road and the work appeared to be progressing successfully. We again met at Woodstock, Illinois on the 21st day of August, 1945 as word was received that Kane County was „ seal coating the Harmony-Hampshire road to the McHenry County line, anl the contractor would do the portion of the road in this County at the same unit price. We decided to let the seal coat work go until next year. We again met at Woodstock, Illinois on the 8th day of September, 1945, and audited and ordered paid bills of a general nature chargeable to the McHenry County patrol system of roads as a. whole for repairs and supplies for County owned machinery and labor at the County tool house and grounds to a Bwiilnl s cKh argeabKl. e to the variou$s6 6s7e.6c2tions of the County patrol system of roads at rates heretofore approved by this Board were audited and ordered paid as follows: Sections 3, 14 $ <29 41 Sections 4, 16, 18 227.85 Sections 4, 17 232 01 Sections 5, 6 3 00 Sections 7, 8, 9, id." 11, tV.,.-/ 35o!81 Sections 13, 15 ...,. 336 90 T°tal - $3,849.06 We are considering the purchase of three trucks to replace the Mack and two Diamond tTV Trucks which have passed the 200.000 mile.mark, also several other machines, i. e., a motor grader, grav,el loader and small pressure kettle to spray asphalt. , It has been almost impossible to replace equipment for several years due to the war. and costs may go higher after ceiling prices are abandoned. The trucks are needed as soon as possible as tne old ones are no longer dependab'e in snow removal. Slightly heavier trucks than the ones we have, with 13 in. tires, air brakes, heavier clutch and more horse power, cost about $5000 each. The re-surfacing of the oil mix road known as the Bay Road east of Mc- Henryr is nearjng completion. Your committee estimates there will be ticce.ssaiy for the care of the McHenry County, Illinois patrol system of roads an appropriation from the County highwliay funds in the sum of $25,000 until tl^e next meeting of this Board.
