GET YOUR CAR IN TIF TOP SHAPE FOR MM'I-, •% V ' ? ft is much more normal for them to wait until you finally scream, "Did foa Hear Me?" fend have them answer, "Oh--O.K."' Some women tell me that their children always obey, but you can guess what I think of the honesty of those ladies! If they actually have such children, I am sure that they nSver grow up, but just fade into the sunset some evening leaving a lovely placid memory behind. Normal, healthy children are sometimes pert, sometimes amiable, sometimes good and sometimes had. Usually the mothers, being people, are the very Uhne w»y. It is a funny thing about children. Sometimes those wiih the beet possible chances and advantages just turn out to be bums and those with no advantages, from squalid homes, become our foremast citisens. 4 ' I think that probably the. best thing to do in rearing children is to reward them as you would a garden. You love and care for a garden, lavishing every tenderness and all of your energy and sometimes a blight will fall on it, ui spite of all your efforts. That is tile way it is with children., You just do the best you can and hope*/at the top of your voice. On Sunday, May 11, many mothers went with their children and other loved ones to the Gospel Center to hear the Mother's Day sermon which was based on the 13th chapter of I Corinthians, in which the apostle Paul speaks of love. The Gospel Center invites all members of out progressive and beautiful community to the services. Sunday Bible School is now held at 10:15 a.m. each Sunday with a class for each age group. Morning services are held at 11 a.m. The work at the center is purely non-denominational and nonsectarian and everyone is welcome. Wayne Sartwell of Wonder Center, who is a« railway express messenger between Chiciago and the west coast, had a really soul shattering experience this week. In the car on which he was working were crates of filfees, dogs, cats, chickens and sea lions. Three of the latter, newly captured and half grown, weighing in the neighborhood of 160 pounds, managed to gnaw their way out of thier crates and chased Mr. Sartwell from one end of uthe car to the other -for several hundred miles. _ Arriving in Chicago, limp and disheveled from the nerve-wracking exf erience, attendants from Lincoln 'ark Zoo arid from Brookfield Zoo, helped get the animals back into crates and on -a train for Camden, N. J., where they will be trained to juggle 'balls and other things that a trained sea lion ought to be able to do. R. M. Perkins of the Lincoln Park Zoo said that while sea lions aren't particularly vicious, when aroused-- as these were--they can bite like an angered dog and that they are as Cfln VQU BEAT THAT/ GERMAN WOMEN NOT ONLY WEAR APRONS POP HOUSEWORK BUT ALSO FOR STRUT WFAR HESTER OILS The Best For Lees" , FUEL OIL OASOLINl LUBRICANTS Weat of C.
